What’s New in SQL 2008 for Late Adopters

Now that SQL 2008 has been out for a long time everyone has put away their “What’s New with SQL 2008” articles, but because your company waited on upgrading from SQL 2005 or even SQL 2000 until now, you were so busy working with older technology that you didn’t have a chance to even touch SQL 2008 until recently. In this presentation, we’ll look at how to use several of the interesting additions to SQL 2008 that will make your life as DBA of a newly deployed SQL 2008 instance much easier.  

About the Speaker

By day, Andie Letourneau works in the Voyager Software Technical Support Department for Fiserv fielding database-related support issues.  She has worked with SQL Server since the days of SQL Server 6.5. Outside of work, she spends her free time sewing and presenting on Sewing and Costuming at Science Fiction and Anime conventions.  She also has a great appreciation for dark chocolate, French wine and port.
