Day-to-day operations at PASS, including tactical projects and major events, are overseen and run by a management team contracted by the Board of Directors. Since 2007, PASS has been under the management of Christianson & Company, based in Vancouver, Canada. In that time, PASS has witnessed phenomenal growth. The management team – led by Judy Christianson, principal of Christianson & Company – are dedicated to enriching and empowering the Microsoft data community, particularly PASS's members and volunteers, so that PASS can succeed in its mission to help the community Connect, Share, and Learn.



Executive Manager & Principal

Judy is the principal of Christianson & Company, the management team responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of PASS. Christianson & Company has been in business for over 20 years, working on major corporate events for clients such as Electronic Arts, Kodak Canada, the Kodak Graphic Communications Group, and Creo Products Inc., to mention a few. In addition, Judy and the C&C team have produced a number of successful celebrity fundraisers for charitable organizations, including the Steve Nash Foundation, Mark Messier in support of Canuck Place, and the Courtnall Celebrity Classic.

Judy brings over a decade of association management experience to the organization and has served as Director on a variety of boards, as Executive Director to the Creo and Kodak Graphic Users Association boards, and most recently, as Executive Manager for PASS. Judy’s main focus is providing the overall vision and leadership for PASS while ensuring all resources are in place to support the needs of the association, the Board of Directors, and the 130,000+ members of PASS.

Finance Manager

Sandy brings 25 years of accounting experience in her role as Finance Manager for Christianson & Company. Sandy works closely with the Executive VP of Finance, the Board of Directors, and the entire management team on all financial-related deliverables. She is also responsible for the annual budget and is the PASS liaison to the accounting firm that completes the annual audit, financial statements, and tax returns for PASS. Sandy is the team lead for both the Finance Operations and Finance Coordinator roles.

Finance Operations Lead

Simon joined Christianson & Company in 2013, and is responsible for bank reconciliations, financial statements, and helping prepare year-end financial documents. Simon has over 10 years of financial experience, having worked in both accounting and industry roles. He is currently studying toward a professional accounting qualification. Simon moved from the UK in 2010 and lives in Vancouver with his wife and baby daughter.

Finance Operations Coordinator

Thea joined Christianson & Company as Finance Operations Coordinator in 2015, working closely with the Finance Manager, with day to day tasks being overseen by the Finance Operations Lead.

With a background in Accounting, Thea is responsible in maintaining the accounts payables and receivables, as well as ensuring an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial activities.

Operations & Project Manager

Joining the management team firstly as Project Coordinator in April 2012, Vicki works with Operations and Marketing on the management and execution of a growing number of IT, event, and marketing projects. 

She is responsible for overseeing the entire life cycle of a project, ensuring everything is completed on time and on budget. She will be involved in projects involving HQ task management software implementation and project prioritization, Orator enhancements, PASS Summit, 24 Hours of PASS, and newsletter tool implementation, as well as other special projects. 

Vicki has a degree in Economics from Simon Fraser University and a background in event and project coordination with the Vancouver Island Health Authority and the National Health Service in the UK, in provincial healthcare initiatives, patient safety and quality initiatives, conference planning, and educational programs.

Project Assistant

Angie joined Christianson & Company as Project Assistant in 2015, under the supervision of the Projects Manager. She is responsible for providing support for the Projects Team, working closely with Elizabeth and Vicki. Angie brings with her a background in finance and operations, having worked in the industrial sector for both government and private business. She is currently completing her B.A. in English Literature.

Originally having joined the management team in April 2008, Marcella returned to Christianson & Company in July 2011, and is the Program Team Lead. Working closely with the PASS Program Director and the Program Committee, she drives project management, logistics, and administration of the educational programs for PASS Summit, SQLRally, and 24 Hours of PASS.

Director of Marketing

Georgia joined the management team as Director of Marketing in April 2015. 

Georgia brings over 17 years of professional experience in strategic marketing, community building, project management, communications, and event management.

Previously the President for the BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association, Georgia is responsible for directing the overall marketing program for PASS, and will utilize her years of leadership in the not-for-profit in her work with PASS.

Marketing Manager, SQL Server Community

Lana joined the management team in October 2011, bringing more than 8 years of marketing, communications, and event experience to her role.

Lana is responsible for the execution of a wide variety of marketing activities and programs in support of the SQL Server Community including PASS Summit, SQLSaturday, 24 Hours of PASS as well as communications including the PASS Connector newsletter and various online resources.

Teresa joined the management team in 2015 as Marketing Manager, Business Analytics, bringing deep experience in all facets of marketing communications and events management. She works closely with the PASS project management and community teams further develop the Business Analytics community. She is responsible for the execution of a wide variety of marketing programs for the Business Analytics community as well as planning and supporting the Business Analytics Conference.

Eleanor Klassen is the Executive Assistant of Christianson & Company, with 15+ years expertise in executive management support, travel administration, organizational skills, and schedule management. Throughout her career, Eleanor has worked in the travel insurance and accounting software industry and is excited to apply her years of event management and administrative skills to serving the PASS community.

Marketing Coordinator

Braden joined Christianson and Company in 2015 as a Marketing Coordinator.

Previous to this, through several years of consulting work, he developed skills in several areas of the digital marketing field. His expertise ranges from website management and content development to SEO and social media strategy. He has spent much of his professional life encouraging small business owners to pursue new avenues in the digital realm and take a few calculated risks with their marketing agendas. 

In his personal time, Braden enjoys strumming his guitar, taking pictures, playing recreational sports and solo backpacking through the third world.

Communications Strategist

Jason joined Christianson & Company in 2015 as a Communications Strategist. 

He brings over a decade of strategic communications experience to the company. He has written and edited copy for a wide range of audiences and communication channels, including communication campaigns and stakeholder engagement strategies for both the private and public sectors in Brisbane and Sydney, Australia.

When not agonising over the perfect synonym or sweating the details of a multi-channel communication plan, Jason spends his free time travelling, pursuing adrenaline rushes (e.g. skydiving, whitewater rafting), hiking, photographing wildlife, kayaking, and cooking.

Event Manager

Jessica joined Christianson & Company as an Event Manager in 2015. 

She graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management from Royal Roads University in 2007. From there, she did a small stint in corporate event planning before deciding that planning/designing weddings was her "thing". She worked for a Wedding Planning company for two years before starting her own Wedding Planning business in 2010. Over the past 6 years, she has planned, coordinated and designed over 120 weddings.

Karley joined Christianson & Company in 2015 as a project assistant.

She was born and raised and Hamilton Ontario. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Carleton University in Ottawa majoring in Sociology and minoring in Psychology. Karley moved to Vancouver in 2012 and has loved the West Coast ever since! Karley likes to keep busy with friends and is an avid sailor, skier and golfer while cultivating her cooking and crafting skills. She enjoys new challenges and loves to push the envelope. Karley is a city girl with a countrified soul.

Senior Event Manager

Anika joined Christianson & Company as the Events Manager in November 2010 and has been managing all operations and logistics for all PASS regional and national events. With 7 years of event management experience, from in-face Board meetings to the annual PASS Summit & PASS Business Analytics Conference, Anika manages all event-related logistics and acts as liaison between the community, the venue, and vendors to ensure facilities, equipment, and physical setup meet required standards and deliver the best possible experience for everyone. In addition, Anika oversees Christianson & Company’s human resources and overall office operations.

Julia joined the management team in 2014, and works under the supervision of the Event Manager. 

Julia is responsible for providing support to the Event & Operations Team and performing general administrative assistance.

Janice joined the management team in 2013, and she works closely with the Board of Directors to ensure that PASS adheres to its policies and procedures. Global Community Engagement

Carmen joined the management team in August 2013, and works closely with Operations and Marketing on the management and execution of a growing number of IT, event, and marketing projects to serve PASS members. For the past 6 years, Carmen has served as the Logistics Manager on various telecommunications infrastructure projects in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal, Canada, and most recently, in Jakarta, Indonesia. She also ran her own book distribution and personal training business.

Since joining the management team in April 2014, Elizabeth Jeffs has worked closely with Vicki and the Community Team. Elizabeth brings to the position experience with project management tools, graphic design and event planning. Elizabeth graduated from the University of British Columbia with a B.A in Human Geography and a minor in English Literature. She has worked previously for TOIT Events, and has volunteered with numerous organizations, such as Power to Play Vancouver and Ten Thousand Villages.

Director of Sales

Sonya joined the management team of Christianson & Company as Director of Sales in 2015.

She is responsible for providing the strategic direction for all sponsorship sales related activities. Sonya ensures the alignment of PASS sales strategies and plans to overall PASS objectives and maintains open communication with the Director of Marketing and other team leads and board counterparts. 

Sonya has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University, over 15 years of IT industry experience, and 9 years in sales and marketing. She comes to us most recently from Microsoft where she managed the relationships of strategic retail partners in Canada. In her spare time Sonya prefers to escape the office and head to the mountains to go hiking, rock climbing or skiing.

Craig began in June of 2007 with Christianson & Company as Operations Manager.

In September of 2013, he took on the new role of Global Alliance Manager and is responsible for cultivating mutually beneficial relationships between PASS and its key partners.

Al is responsible for sponsorship sales, promotional marketing, advertising sales, and the general management of the Summit and Business Analytics Conference expos. With over 20 years of business management, advertising, customer service, and event production experience, Al ensures clients receive knowledgeable information and guidance. Al works closely with the Operations and Marketing groups to create and provide the best opportunities, options, and value to our sponsors, exhibitors, and advertisers.

First beginning in April 2008 as Marketing Coordinator with the management team, Sanj has taken on the role of Sponsorship and Global Alliance Coordinator. She is responsible for planning and supporting regional and international SQL Server events, membership growth, and the distribution of promotional materials. She also ensures that all agreements with sponsors are fulfilled and works closely with these sponsors to organize logistics for the PASS Summit Expo Hall.

Lindsay joined the management team in August 2015. A graduate from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in KinesiologyLindsay is responsible for sponsorship management for client events.

Her most recent position was as an undergraduate advisor in the Criminology department at SFU. Lindsay spends her spare time dancing and playing recreational softball, alongside finishing up a Silversmithing course at VCC, dabbling in graphic design and spending time with her boyfriend. Lindsay hopes to eventually foster a dog from the SPCA.

Boris joins the C&C team with over twenty years of IT experience. Starting out as a system analyst and application developer, Boris has been focusing on team leadership and management across a diverse array of technology projects for the past fourteen years. He has worked with large and small organizations over his career, and has experience with strategic planning, defining processes around quality assurance and project development, and software development life cycles. 

Boris holds a Master of Computer Science from Uzbekistan State University, and has pursued additional training at institutions across North America, including practitioner level training and certifications in ITIL, the Stanford Advanced Project Management program and the SQA and Test Management programs at UBC, to name a few.

As IT Team Lead for Christianson & Company, Wesley's primary responsibilities are to serve as main point of contact on all IT-related matters, investigate improvements in areas of IT, and execute planning, organizing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of IT project goals and objectives. Web Developer

Benny began in April 2012 with Christianson & Company as Web Developer with extensive experience in DotNetNuke and .NET development. His primary responsibility is supporting and enhancing PASS’s active websites to meet member needs. Web Developer

Jeffery began his position as Web Developer with Christianson & Company in late July 2014, working with the IT team on developing web applications using C#/.Net and SQL Server. Jeffery assists in improving the efficiency of PASS' web applications, and working with the DotNetNuke (DNN) platform. Besides his work with PASS, Jeffery is also a highly committed sports fan. He regularly plays hockey, soccer, football, and baseball. In addition, Jeffery develops Wordpress-based websites and enjoys being up-to-date with technology and gadget news in his spare time.

Registration and Reporting Manager

Since joining Christianson & Company in April 2007, Gerry acts as PASS Registration Manager and oversees the registration team on all PASS events. Gerry produces all event status reports (custom, statistical, financial) for the Executive/Board and works directly with accounting on the financial reconciliation of all PASS events. Gerry also works closely with Operations, Finance and Marketing to ensure all systems, policies, procedures and reporting requirements are assessed, implemented, maintained and improved as required. Gerry has 17 years of experience in the event registration field, having worked with Christianson & Company since 1996. Prior to this, Gerry worked 20 years in accounting and office management positions.

Reporting and Finance Coordinator

Nicole joined Christianson & Company as Financial Coordinator in March 2012. She is responsible for the monthly financial reconciliation of all PASS events, all financial aspects related to SQLSaturdays  (including PASS and partner sponsorships, dispersal of funds, and reconciliations), Virtual Chapter sponsorship disbursements, and the monthly time-tracking report (including managing/approving time sheets). Nicole began in November 2011 as administrative assistant. She graduated from the University of Victoria in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree, has completed 2 years of Premedical Studies, and operated a Student Works Painting Franchise from 2006-2008.

Shannon joined the management team in 2009 as Registration Supervisor for PASS events. 

As Registration Supervisor, Shannon supports attendees during the registration process and oversees onsite registration staff at PASS events. 

Shannon works closely with Gerry Erickson to maintain the online registration sites and ensure customer service satisfaction.

Since 2013, Brooke has assisted in providing lodging and sponsorship support for PASS events. As Lodging Supervisor for PASS Summit, Brooke assists attendees with their hotel room requirements and provides their reservation confirmations. As Exhibitor/Sponsorship Supervisor for the Business Analytics Conference, Brooke registers all sponsorship contracts and ensures each sponsor company’s onsite teams are registered in advance of the event.
