PASS is constantly striving to find new opportunities to engage not only within our own community of Data Professionals, but communities around the globe as well. We have recently been introduced to the exciting world of Civic Technology, a relatively new movement of people with technical skills who want to work together, toward the public good. Collaboration is at the core of the movement, where solutions are built to solve important social issues. Examples of this exciting work can already been seen through organizations such as Code for AmericaDataKind, and The Points of Light Civic Accelerator.

We are partnering with Microsoft’s Technology & Civic Innovation Group to host two community sessions about Civic Technology, what's currently being done and how we can get involved to take what we know, use it for social benefit, have fun and make valuable connections along the way.
