What is a SIG?

PASS Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are forums where SQL Server professionals from around the globe can communicate with others who have similar interests and face similar challenges. While PASS Chapters unite the SQL Server community from a geographical perspective, SIGs unite the community based on common interests. As such, they are virtual in nature. Each SIG may achieve that objective in different ways. Common ways of interacting with the community include LiveMeetings, published articles and interviews, online forums, and PASS Summit events.

Current SIGs include:

Database Administration Provides information and networking opportunities to SQL Server DBAs in support of their daily duties. This includes a wide range of topics including performance, storage, best practices, encryption, migration, and more.	Business Intelligence Provides BI professionals interested in all aspects of Microsoft BI with a place they can network with others, share information and showcase their expertise.
Application Development Supplies Application Developers with content relevant to how they interact with SQL Server, including Transact SQL, SQL Server Management Objects (SMO), CLR integration, LINQ, best practices and more.	Women in Technology Provides a place for the women in PASS to network and for PASS members to discuss issues pertinent to women working in technology.
Auditing and Compliance Promoting an understanding of current auditing and compliance methodologies, technologies, and forward-looking developments to industry practitioners and compliance groups.	Book Reviews This site allows PASS members to obtain free books in exchange for a posted online review. Members can also provide feedback on books they already own. These book reviews are intended to help PASS members determine the best available books on topics of interest.

Interested in Getting Involved?
