PASS Volunteers

PASS volunteers are one of a kind. Where else could you spend your time connecting with the industry’s best database administrators, business intelligence professionals, and application developers? PASS volunteers have a hand in everything from setting up chapter meetings to sitting on the Board of Directors and running the organization.

Our volunteers are the lifeline of PASS. Annual volunteer training is held at the PASS Summit and kicks off with a fun appreciation party. And one volunteer is honored every year with the PASSion Award, which recognizes the volunteer who stands out among the rest.

Interested in Volunteering?

Volunteering with PASS is easy. You just need to be a PASS member, and membership is free. Once you've signed up, please contact us to find out about volunteer opportunities. We're happy to help!

Volunteer opportunities are also available at the local Chapter level. Click here to find the chapter nearest you. Click here to read PASS Volunteer Jeremiah Peschka's description of how to volunteer with PASS.

The PASSion Award

The PASSion Award is PASS’s most prestigious accolade, presented annually to a volunteer who demonstrates exceptional dedication to and enthusiasm for the Professional Association for SQL Server and the SQL Server community as a whole. Volunteers are nominated by individual Board Portfolio owners and then voted on by the entire Board of Directors. PASSion Award recipients are recognized at the annual PASS Summit.

PASS Volunteer Committees

PASS volunteers can either be task or committee based. Task-based volunteers will give their time sporadically and over many portfolios while committee members will join one portfolio, volunteering their time under one Board member or Headquarters Staff. We have a variety of avenues where volunteers can contribute:

                Board of Directors
                Content Committee
                Chapter Committee
                Regional Mentor Committee
                Chapter Leaders
                Program Committee
                Special Interest Groups
