Interest in becoming a PASS Board Member

“Empower Your Local Chapter.” That is my agenda as I seek a position on the PASS Board of Directors. In 2002 I helped found the Atlanta, Georgia, PASS Chapter and I remained a Chapter Leader until 2006. During that time membership grew to over 700 and regular monthly attendance to 60-80. When I moved from Georgia to Maryland in 2006 I became a charter member of the PASS Regional Mentor program where I had the honor of serving 18 PASS Chapters in the Eastern United States. As a Regional Mentor I positioned myself as the personal liaison to PASS for each Chapter Leader, urging each to treat me as a resource to their Chapter and their primary point of contact for PASS. In that capacity I created an infrastructure that facilitated peer-networking of Chapter Leaders within the region through quarterly Chapter Leader calls and a regional newsletter.

My passion has been and continues to be focused on the individual members of SQL Server community, and individuals are served by Local PASS Chapters. The clear benefits of PASS are rarely felt by the individual members of a Local Chapter, and the PASS culture is hardly ever replicated away from large-scale events. I hope I can help PASS expand its value-proposition to its individual members through their Local Chapter.

A balanced technical and business background has equipped me to serve. I am a SQL Server MVP as well as an accomplished business leader. I have a rich heritage of SQL Server community service as a leader of a PASS Local Chapter, a PASS Regional Mentor and a long-standing member of the PASS Chapter Committee. If you agree with me, I need your support because I am all about “Empowering Your Local Chapter.”
