Nominations Committee, chaired by Wayne Snyder, has approved the
elections procedure
documents to kick off this year's
Call for Nominations.

Can Integrity Be Learned?

In the last Plays Well with Others column, I talked about the
work of Dr. William Cohen, a renowned expert on leadership. In Dr. Cohen’s work,
he describes eight frequently recurring characteristics among excellent leaders,
one of which is “absolute integrity.”
However, this characteristic got pushback from several readers. The general
thread seemed to be, “You either have integrity or you don’t. It’s not something
that can be learned.” So let’s take a step back and examine the idea of whether
integrity can be learned.
