Announcing PASS Summit Regular and Half-Day Sessions

The all-volunteer PASS Summit Program Committee has had one of its most challenging years ever, working tirelessly over the past 6 weeks to select the best educational sessions for this year’s conference from an exceptional pool of 650+ abstracts.

Today, we’re proud to announce the PASS Summit 2011 regular sessions and 4 new half-day sessions, designed to give attendees a deeper look at everything from performance tuning and indexing to hardware configurations and scaling SQL Server. PASS Board Elects New Officers

The PASS Board of Directors held its 2012 Officer Elections last week, electing the following Officers to 2-year terms that begin on January 1, 2012:

President: Bill Graziano
Executive Vice President Finance: Douglas McDowell Vice President, Marketing: Thomas LaRock

Interview: Stay up-to-date with “Denali”
Rick Heiges, PASS VP Marketing, recently sat down with Jennifer Moser of Microsoft who sits on the PASS Board of Directors.

Rick: Jennifer I know you are excited about reaching out to the community and keeping everyone informed on the latest and greatest Microsoft news. Can you tell us more about the next version release of Microsoft SQL Server, code name “Denali”?

Jennifer: Well Rick, I can tell you that the next CTP (Community Technology Preview) for SQL Server, code name "Denali", is coming soon. The SQL Server engineering team is working hard on high-availability improvements with Always On. They are also focusing on data discovery and visualization with Project "Crescent", and are looking at the integrated development experience of Project "Juneau".
