At SQLRally the fun doesn't end when the sessions are over. We've set up informal, pay-your-own-way gatherings after the official schedule ends so that you can take advantage of the time you're here to socialize with other attendees.
Drinks & Appetizers at Johnnie's Hideaway, 5-7 PM (Map | RSVP)
In town early and looking for something to do? Join us for drinks and appetizers at Johnnie's Hideaway from 5-7 pm on the deck. Great view, great food, and a chance to start meeting new people and reconnecting with people you already know. If you want to have dinner after we recommend making reservations, or try one of the restaurants within walking distance including Perkins, TGI Fridays, Uno's, and Chevy's.
OPASS Chapter Meeting, 6-8 PM (Map | RSVP)
OPASS is holding their monthly user group meeting with presentations on Visual Studio & Team Foundation Server and T-SQL Enhancements in Denali. Food is provided and you're invited to attend!
Dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, 6-9 PM (Map | RSVP)
Start your SQLRally experience with dinner and some fun by joining us at Buffalo Wild Wings. We'll be on the patio from 6-9 pm. Good affordable food and reasonably priced beer, what else does a mixer need? Join us for dinner, and then maybe form a group to head over to our other evening event - miniature golf at Pirate's cove - just a couple minute's walk in the beautiful Orlando weather!
Mini-Golf at Pirate's Cove, 7-9 PM (Map | RSVP)
Want to make some new friends and enjoy the weather in Orlando at the same time? Join us for a round or two of miniature golf at Pirates Cove, about 5 minutes from the Marriott World Center. They have two separate courses and a round of golf is $10. Our published hours are 7-9 pm but we may well stay later if there are people still wanting to play. Nothing like a quiet round of golf to give you time to talk shop and get ready for Day 1 of SQLRally! Wear your SQLRally badge or something else that screams "SQL" so we can spot each other (or would it be all that hard to do anyway?)
Fun at Old Town, 7-10 PM (Map | RSVP)
Old Town might be described as an permanent county fair. Restaurants, bars, rides, and more. Entry is free, pick what you want to do and pay as you go. Maybe start with the mechanical bull in the center of Old Town, then try the go-karts or one of the more extreme rides like the Slingshot! Or just pick a restaurant or bar and hang out with your new SQL friends. It's a great place to just relax and pick what you want to do. We'll be there from 7:00 pm (right after the Overdrive sessions conclude) through 10 pm. It's about a 10 minue drive from the Marriott World Center.
