Principal Development Manager, Microsoft
Clemens Szperski has worked in academia, in startups, as a consultant, and as a researcher, with a background in programming languages, operating systems, component software, and software architecture. He joined Microsoft in 1999 and has been an architect, developer, development lead, and development manager in the Research, Office, Connected Systems, and Data Platform groups. Clemens’ focus throughout has been on composable and data-driven technologies that enable rapid solution development. He worked on various aspects of Power Query, including its runtime and expression language, informally called “M”. Today, Clemens is the development manager for Power Query, a key component of Power BI.
