Charlotte Douglas International Airport The airport serves more than 120 destinations worldwide with over 650 daily flights. Transportation Taxi from the airport Airport to Center City: $25 for one or two people; $2 for each additional person over two people. Pick-up is located across from the Visitor Info Center in Baggage Claim, between Zones B and C at the Taxi Stand. Rates to other areas of town from the airport, as well as from point to point anywhere else in the city, are metered at $2.50 initial drop and $2 per mile. Public Transportation The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) operates the Sprinter Bus, which runs every 20 minutes from the airport to the city center. Bus stops are near the Doubletree Gateway Village, Marriott City Center, Omni, Ritz-Carlton, aloft Uptown, and the Transit Center, where guests can either walk a few blocks or transfer to the light rail at no additional charge to a station near their hotels. City center hotels are within five blocks of the Transit Center. The Sprinter Bus is designed to accommodate luggage and is a hybrid, providing a ‘green’ alternative. Cost is $2 each way.
