Concurrency—We Are Not Alone!
Sascha Lorenz (PSG Projekt Service GmbH)
SQL Server is one of the most powerful development environments for data-driven applications, but many developer are surprised by the effects of concurrency, such as the lack of performance and blocking issues. This session gives you an overview of techniques and strategies to eliminate concurrency issues, such as choosing the right isolation level for a particular application, using Service Broker, and database design and T-SQL examples for optimistic and pessimistic locks. You’ll see how to generate a test workload to simulate a concurrent environment as well as how to monitor a user’s locks in your solution to optimize performance.
